Hearn Industrial Services, a leading service provider to the automotive industry, is seeking an Automotive Electrical Engineer to join the team in our Windsor Ontario location. This is a fixed contract for 6-8 months. The qualified candidate will need to have automotive industry experience with strong communication and relationship building skills.

 

Wage & Shift

  • $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
  • Days – hours may vary
  • Weekends if required

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Engineering or Physics degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in high voltage/power electronics
  • Demonstrable understanding of power electronics and devices
  • Understanding of electrical engineering protocols and standards
  • Working technical knowledge in applications engineering and product design/development (specifically within an automotive context)
  • Working level knowledge of DVP&R and DFMEA
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly motivated and self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Working level knowledge of Power Electronics analysis and simulations tools
  • Ability to interface professionally with key customers, cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel / management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities, one’s own time while being mindful of deadlines
  • Must be task oriented, detail oriented, and accurate with work
  • Legally eligible to work Canada
  • Power electronics/electrical models and simulation experience
  • Electric motor and powertrain controls experience
  • Able to travel to other the USA and other locations as needed
  • Proficient at speaking, writing, reading and comprehending English

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Electrical Assembly systems from concept to manufacturing
  • Develop and implement electrical testing systems
  • Implement plant layout, process flow, and material handling techniques
  • Preparing estimates and proposals for projects
  • Applying technical standards and procedures to carry out tasks
  • Ensuring all techniques, procedures, and designs meet appropriate compliance standards
  • Troubleshooting and solving any electrical system errors
  • Providing input over the design and development of equipment designs as they progress through the structural design processes
  • Supporting the manufacturing of components and resolving any manufacturing queries
  • Other duties as assigned
