Production & Forklift Operator

Full Time

Our busy client on Silver Creek Industrial Drive in Tecumseh is looking for an energetic Production Operator who is able to work in a fast paced environment. This role will be back up for Forklift if needed.

Important details:

  • The candidate’s primary role will be working on the production line and will be back up Forklift Operator when needed.
  • The potential to be hired on is high if the candidate is the right fit.

 

Wage & Shifts;

  • $21.50/hr.
  • Rotational shifts of days and afternoons.
  • Weekend shifts are mandatory when required.

 

Required skills, knowledge and abilities

  • Valid forklift certification
  • 5 years working experience driving a forklift in a busy warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (will ask for proof)
  • Previous experience working in shipping / receiving
  • Able to work shift work, flexible to work weekends when required.
  • Proficient at reading and writing English

 

Production Associate

  • Removing automotive parts from the running production line
  • Checking for any quality issues
  • Packaging the parts

 

Forklift Operator

  • Operate forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
  • Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, which includes pre-and post shift inspection of vehicle and reporting of any maintenance requirements or issues with the equipment.
  • Receive and unload inbound shipments, safely move product to storage locations.
  • Efficiently stack and store products in appropriate areas.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
  • Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment.
  • Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
  • Work with team members to ensure appropriate records and reports are completed to guarantee tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories when required
  • Other duties as assigned.
