Forklift drivers are key to the success of our operations as they provide pivotal service to ensure raw materials and finished product are moved throughout the facility safely and within appropriate time frames. We are looking for forklift drivers for our 3rd Party Customer.
Plasman Windsor Manufacturing Plants – Areas are in Oldcastle, La Salle and Tecumseh
Summary of essential job functions
Important details:
- candidates must be prepared to train and work on the line when not needed to drive forklift
- operate forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and feed production lines
Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, which includes pre-and post shift inspection of vehicle and reporting of any maintenance requirements or issues with the equipment.
Receive and unload inbound shipments, safely move product to storage locations.
Efficiently stack and store products in appropriate areas.
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment.
Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Work with team members to ensure appropriate records and reports are completed to guarantee tight inventory control and security.
Assist in physical inventories when required
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
Comply with all safety requirements and standards under OSHA and MSDS guidelines
Required skills, knowledge and abilities
·Previous experience driving forklift – feeding a production line (3-5 years)
Safety equipment required – safety shoes, glasses
Able to work shift work, flexible to work weekends when required
