JOB SUMMARY: A Custodian, is an individual responsible for maintaining cleanliness both inside and outside of a building. Their most important duties include cleaning flooring and carpets, emptying trash, and sanitizing restrooms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Purpose of Position: Responsible for supporting operations in regard to janitorial & facility upkeep. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sanitize restrooms and replenish all supplies
  • Empty trash, and recycling, in all areas
  • Clear snow in the winter from walkway and apply salt when required
  • Wash windows, inside and outside
  • Operate forklift and floor sweeper / scrubber
  • Make sure the establishment is clean and meets all safety requirements
  • Wash walls, ceilings, and light fixtures regularly
  • Perform facilities related maintenance tasks including but not limited to minor repairs, upgrades, painting and facility up keep, and installations as required.
  • Perform inventory and organization of equipment and facilities related supplies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Will be trained per QMS for all production process and provide backup support as production operator when needed. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a fast-paced, deadline driven design & build team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner and follow safety protocols including, but not limited to, Lock Out/Tag Out programs, etc.

Ability and willingness to perform moderate physical tasks. Continuously moves about between areas and tasks,

  • standing/walking up to 8 hours/day.
  • carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 35-50 pounds.
  • Must work on ladders and use medium and heavy hand tools. Occasionally climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling (40%); and must have fine finger dexterity.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Very good physical condition 
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks while siting or standing.
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Valid drivers license and means of travel to support 2 sites

QUALIFICATIONS (Training, Education, Past Experience)

EDUCATION: High School degree or equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:  Stand, walk, or be mobile for up to an eight-hour shift; ascend and descend from a forklift; lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; bend, twist and reach to be able to dust above cabinets and desks.
